Canopy Landscape Group was founded by Mac Hennessy to build the leading landscape services platform in the Southeast.

Mac has done this before. He helped take a family-owned Alabama service business and grow it into a regional platform company serving clients across the Southeast. He led the expansion of its client base, built the operational and sales infrastructure needed to scale, and guided it through its combination with a larger multi-state organization. Through every stage of that growth, the business kept what made it successful: its people, its local relationships, and its reputation for doing the work right.

That experience shaped a clear conviction. The Southeast is full of exceptional, family-built service companies with loyal customers, skilled crews, and decades of goodwill. What many of them lack is a path to the next level, whether that means growth capital, professional systems, succession planning, or a partner who respects what the founder built.

Canopy exists to provide that path at scale. We are assembling a platform of best-in-class landscape companies, beginning in Alabama and expanding across the Southeast, supported by institutional-quality capital, shared resources, and a leadership team that has built a platform company from the ground up. Each partner company gains the strength of a large organization while keeping the local identity its customers know and trust.
